Tutors work intensively with each group on a rotational basis to ensure a broad range of input on your chosen repertoire. The aim of this unique course is to capitalize on the way an established group functions, enabling in-depth exploration of the specific ensemble and rehearsal skills that working ensembles encounter. As always, the Myriads offer some optional extras on top of their committed coaching, also offering useful advice on rehearsal technique and performance issues as well as instrument specific advice where required. Applications are welcomed from any configuration of wind or wind and piano ensembles from trios to decets. Due to popular demand, we are again offering an optional extra day for those groups who are interested in a longer course. To celebrate one hundred years since the birth of Roald Dahl, we welcome international prize-winning wind ensemble, the London Myriad Ensemble, along with special guest performers, to present a programme that shimmers with his unique brand of humour, imagination and storytelling. British composer Paul Patterson’s setting of Dahl’s hilarious Three Little Pigs for wind quintet, piano and narrator is the fairy tale as you have never heard it before; whilst Martin Butler’s playfully-evocative setting of three poems, from his deliciously-gruesome collection Dirty Beasts, for the same ensemble is sure to revolt and entertain in equal measure!

London Myriad Ensemble perform at 11 Downing Street
Tuesday October 27 2015
13:00
By tradition once a year the Chancellor of Exchequer kindly allows the Treasury Music Society to hold an additional special concert for Music Society members, at the Chancellor’s residence at No.11 Downing Street. Currently the Prime Minister is in residence at no. 11, with the Chancellor’s Offices on the ground and first floors.
This year, the London Myriad Ensemble are thrilled to have been invited to perform as recitalists for this special lunchtime concert in the State Drawing Room at 11 Downing Street.
Literatures of the Piano Sextet – London Myriad Ensemble with internationally renowned pianist Yuki Negishi, and actor Jake Harders, Southside House, Wimbledon,
Friday October 16 2015
With a journey that flirts with fairy tales and imagined characters, the ensemble brings to life the amusing Parisian eccentrics in Françaix’s L’heure du berger alongside two more recent marvellous works based on Roald Dahl stories.
This is a rare opportunity to hear two highly commissioned and established composers’ work: Martin Butler’s Dirty Beasts and Paul Patterson’s Three Little Pigs are brought humming into life by the ensemble and narrator. Alongside Butler and Patterson is the exuberant and at points poignant Poulenc… Sextet. The engaging and incredibly idiomatic work of the independent Gordon Jacob, who taught so many English composers, adds an exciting intensity with riveting moments from every player.
We are thrilled to be performing with pianist Yuki Negishi, who performs both as a soloist and recitalist in the UK and abroad. She has performed on Radio 3 and on Channel 4 and has won over 10 international prizes. As a keen chamber musician she has collaborated both previously with London Myriad and also with numerous musicians from the LPO, Royal Concertgebouw and the Zurich Tonhalle. Narrator, Jake Harders, is a classically trained actor and a graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama, and the Grotowski Center, Poland. He works regularly in TV, Theatre and Films.

10th Wind Ensembles with the London Myriads – Benslow Music, 6th February 2015
The London Myriad Ensemble returns to Benslow Music for what we think is the tenth time!
London Myriad return for weekend course which, due to popluar demand from attendees, can run from the Thursday 5th February, for those that wish to arrive early. Please ask when booking about the slightly longer 4 day course. The official 3 day option is still available, of course, for those who prefer that length.
This course, devised specifically for ready-made groups who prefer to stay in their configurations rather than mixing and matching, was a huge success on its debut in 2010, with the dynamic, young London Myriad Ensemble offering participants their boundless enthusiasm as well as expertise and insight.
Benslow welcomes any configuration of wind or wind and piano ensemble (within reason) from trio formations up to dectets, as well as preformed single-instrument trios/quartets etc.
The atmosphere is supportive and fruitful with coaching being tailored to the specific ensemble’s needs and desires.
London Myriad looks forward to sharing the 4 days with faces old and new!
Young/student performers get an immediate reduction! Ask when booking!

Les Six and a ‘Mighty Handful’:exploring the compass of the piano sextet
Parisian characters, Russian romantics, and an English independent
International prizewinners, the London Myriad Ensemble, join forces with breath-taking international pianist Yuki Negishi in a full programme for piano and winds. With a journey that zips between Paris, London and St Petersburg, the ensemble brings to life the amusing Parisian characters in Françaix’s L’heure du berger. Aligned with the Russian Rimsky-Korsakov’s rarely performed but exquisite chamber work for piano quintet, the sound world of this fantastic combination is set humming with energy. The exuberant, and at points poignant, Sextet recalls Poulenc’s part in Les Six alongside the lesser known but intriguing Sarabande and Menuet by D’Indy. The engaging and incredibly idiomatic work of the independent Gordon Jacob, who taught so many English composers, adds an exciting intensity with riveting moments from every player.
Wind Ensembles with the Myriads – Benslow Summer Course, 2nd June 2014
The London Myriad Ensemble returns to Benslow Music for what we think is the ninth time (an anniversary soon!) following February’s popular course. This time we return for a slightly longer and more relaxed 4 day course.
This course, devised specifically for ready-made groups who prefer to stay in their configurations rather than mixing and matching, was a huge success on its debut in 2010, with the dynamic, young London Myriad Ensemble offering participants their boundless enthusiasm as well as expertise and insight.
Benslow welcomes any configuration of wind or wind and piano ensemble (within reason) from trio formations up to dectets.
The atmosphere is supportive and fruitful with coaching being tailored to the specific ensemble’s needs and desires.
This course will be slightly more in depth, what with longer allowances, and we look forward to sharing the 4 days with faces old and new!
Young performers get an immediate reduction!
